UPDATED: AUGUST 17, 2017

I have seen a variety of unique light fixtures in my travels. Some are either from the Worcester area, out of state or even out of the country! Some are vintage while others are more modern. Some are even head scratchers. I took some photos to display them here for all to see. I'll add new entries when I get them.

This is 1 of 2 "Worcester" gas light poles located at a Chinese Restaurant, off Rt 31, Holden, MA (near Big Y). This one is modified with a "colonial" post light fixture.

#2 of 2. "Worcester" gas light pole modified with a "colonial" post light fixture.

This is the only Porcelain "insulator head" Radial Wave (that I know of) left in Lancaster, Ma. There are 3 total Radial Waves left in this town.

This is the only Porcelain "insulator head" Radial Wave (that I know of) left in Clinton, MA inventory

Same fixture as previous photo but at different angle

Old top mounted radial wave fixture, located next to Sterling Greenery (on Rt 140) in Sterling, Ma. This is the only surviving radial wave in town. Update May 2016: Fixture taken down and in municipal light managers hands.

What was the only GE Form 79 MV "acorn globe" fixture left in Worcester, with one latch unhooked. Williams St, Pole #1. As of Dec 2013, this fixture has been retired :(

Old radial wave on Rt 62, near Rt 140 (Sterling, Ma) in the fog. As of 2011, was removed and no longer exists :(

Same fixture as previous photo but different angle

Old radial wave on Rt 62, also near Rt 140 (Sterling, Ma). As of 2011, was removed at the same time as fixture in previous photo. No longer exists :(

In Spring 2012, the last of the old green 1940/50's "curved arm" poles of W. Boylston St came down because the base/foot of the poles were rotting out. I secured some "cannonball" finials from these poles (with permission). Now a piece of these icons will live on in the collection.

These double and single globe fixture assemblies were all installed in the early 1990's. They are located all around the immediate downtown Worcester area. However, with the City Hall renovations, these are getting replaced with curved arm HPS, LED Retro Lights.

Here are the new "Retro Lights" that are popping up around downtown. This one has a little alignment issue.

These old Westinghouse OV10 MV fixtures still have a small presence in Shrewsbury Ma. This is located with some of its siblings along S. Quinsigamond Ave.

This early 1960's GE M250 MV fixture was located on W.Boylston St, on the 190 Exit #1 interchange (removed in 2015). This was the only surviving variant in the Worcester inventory. This fixture actually  replaced a failed GE M400A HPS fixture (had a deep bowl plastic refractor) back in the late 80's.

Flagg St "Full Moon" Post top fixture on a decorative pole/base. There are 5 of these at the Flagg St School, Worcester, Ma

Pole/base from previous pic. All poles look to be in very good shape.

Wheeler Boston radial wave on 4' curved arm, located on west end of Lancaster, Ma (next to the tracks). This is one of 3 incandescent fixture left in Lancaster, MA, minus light bulb

This is 1 of 2 "Old Scroll" base/pole assembly modified to a different light pole. Located next to the Paxton, Ma common, on Rt 31, next to a church. These 2 have been here for a long time.

This is 2 of 2 "Old Scroll" base/pole assembly modified to a different light pole. Notice the design along the top of the base. Located next to the Paxton, Ma common, on Rt 31, next to a church

This is one of those "Huh" moments. Spring 2012, May & June St. This was repaired soon afterwards. Now has an AE LED fixture in its place.

GE M250R2 with an attempted repair. These doors are so flimsy, either the back tabs break when opened, or most commonly, the bail latch has very little tension and unlatches easily.

Old acorn globe post light. Very decorative concrete pole/base. Located next to the old municipal light building in Holden, Ma

Old GE Form 400, located on Rt 12, downtown Sterling, MA. As of Spring 2013, fixture replaced with GE Evolve LED fixture. Assumed no longer exists :(

Close up of previous photo. I had requested this fixture when Sterling was upgrading their downtown lights. Light disappeared.

Old "mini" globe fixture. There were 6 of these near Westover ARB, Chicopee, MA (Now in my collection)

Old "Gumball" latch type globe fixture. There were 4 of these near Westover ARB, Chicopee, MA (Now in my collection)

Westinghouse globe fixture (with the globe flat on the bottom). There was only 1 of these near Westover ARB, Chicopee, MA (Now in my collection)

These 1940's curved arm poles are located at the old Grossmans Lumber Yard on Rt 12 in Auburn, Ma (over the Worcester line). These are dubbed the "Grossman 3". These were painted orange long ago to match the store colors of the time.

Here is a closeup of what looks like a Westinghouse OV20 with remote ballast mounted on the pole top. These "Grossman 3" still illuminate to this day (as of Sept 2014).

These old short poles with short curved arms used to be located around the Westover ARB Bowling Alley. The facility was remodeled in 2012/13 and all but the two lights pictured, were removed/destroyed

Here is a pole from the previous photo. Sliced & Diced

This is one of two types of LED fixtures that Worcester is installing. This is an America Electric FCO fixture, used mostly on the main roads (where higher watts are needed). There are three different watts on this model used so far: 60, 95 and 113 watts. They appear to be 3000K temp, that leans more towards a warm, incandescent glow.

This is the 2nd type of LED fixture that Worcester is installing. This is an America Electric FCO fixture, used mostly on the residential roads (where lower watts are needed). There are two different watts on this model used so far: 27 and 47 watts. They appear to be 3000K temp, that leans more towards a warm, incandescent glow.
